Tour a fishing boat on the Hay River

Tour Days: You will be in Hay River on days 2, 3, and 4 of the Bucketlist Tour.

In Hay River we will board our luxury coach, check in to the Ptarmigan Inn, have dinner there, and head out to Great Slave Lake. We will spend our evening on a harbour cruise with a local commercial fisherman. Our guide will share fishing history while we cruise and view Hay River from the river.

Breakfast is on your own!
8:30am: Meet in the hotel lobby, and begin a full day Hay River tour.

   We will visit the historic West Channel of Hay River and learn about Hay River’s historic roots. We will stop and dip our toes in Great Slave Lake; visit the original Hudson Bay building which is now a museum run by dedicated volunteers; and Fisherman’s Wharf, which may or may not be open. After lunch in town, we will head out to K’atl’odeeche First Nation, the only native reserve in the Northwest Territories, and learn the history of the Dene people. Dinner is at the Ptarmigan Inn.

Checkout before 7:00 am. Continental breakfast will be served on the coach.
7:00 am – we need an early start for a long day of travelling to Fort Smith.
