Travel in the North is subject to many variables: weather conditions are sometimes unpredictable, road conditions are variable, and you never know when a herd of Wood Buffalo will block the road. For these and other reasons, our schedule must have some flexibility built in.

Arrival and explore Yellowknife on your own.
Meet your fellow travelers for dinner.
Day 2
Tour Yellowknife with a guide.
Fly to Hay River on a vintage airplane.
See the town of Hay River from the river on a fishing boat with a local commercial fisherman.
Day 3
Full day tour of Historic Hay River and K’atl’odeeche First Nation
Day 4 Travel to Fort Smith;
Explore the great Salt Plains and Wood Buffalo National Park
Day 5
Tour Fort Smith
Travel to Fort Providence with stops at 3 waterfalls: Louise, Alexandra, and Lady Evelyn.
2 stops in the communities of Enterprise and Kakisa.
Cross the Mackenzie River by bridge
Day 6
Tour Fort Providence
Travel to Fort Simpson with stops at Sambaa Deh Falls and Jean Marie River
Day 7
Day trip by float plane from Fort Simpson to Nahanni National Park
See spectacular canyons, tufta mounds, and Virginia Falls (twice the height of Niagara Falls)
Land on a glacier lake before returning to Fort Simpson
Day 8
Boat trip and wilderness tour around Fort Simpson with Shehtah Adventures

“Buffer day” in Fort Simpson and return to Yellowknife
